Every minute counts during a cardiac arrest. In fact, for every minute that passes without CPR or defibrillation, the chance of survival drops by 10%. That’s why Calon Hearts works tirelessly to place defibrillators in communities across Wales.

A defibrillator (AED) delivers an electric shock that helps restore a normal rhythm to a heart that has stopped. Modern AEDs are easy to use and fully automated — anyone can operate one with simple voice instructions. Yet many communities still don’t have one nearby, or the device isn’t accessible when needed.

Through our defibrillator placement programme, we help local groups, sports clubs, and schools secure and maintain these vital devices. We also provide training, awareness, and signage to make sure people know where to find them and how to act fast in an emergency.
