Building a Heart-Safe Wales — Our Vision for the Future

Since our founding, Calon Hearts has grown from a small local initiative into a nationally recognised charity making a measurable difference. But our vision doesn’t stop here. We want a Wales where every person has access to heart screening, where every community has a defibrillator, and where no family loses a loved one to a preventable cardiac condition.

To achieve this, we’re expanding our outreach — working with local councils, sports bodies, and businesses to embed heart safety into everyday life. We’re also developing partnerships with healthcare providers to ensure that those who attend screenings receive appropriate follow-up care.

Education is at the heart of what we do. By raising awareness about the signs of cardiac distress, the importance of screening, and the use of defibrillators, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers and fear into action.

Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, and supporters. Whether it’s a single screening or a full community initiative, every effort helps us move closer to a heart-safe Wales.
